Brokerage Support Services

The Arc Multnomah-Clackamas offers the following support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities:

Housing Assistance

  • Assistance in finding affordable and ADA compliant housing based on personal finances as well as the individual’s budget and needs
  • Providing training on how to successfully maintain housing

Community Inclusion Activities with Skill Building

  • Providing training and assistance with healthy eating options, including writing out grocery lists, taking a grocery shopping trip, and cooking a healthy meal
  • Training to use Tri-Met services for transportation to and from day programs or recreation events

Vocational Skills Training through Volunteering

  • Providing travel training if the individual requires transportation assistance
  • Providing on-site job training via volunteer work and support regarding job duties and collaboration with the employer
  • Troubleshoot issues that may arise in a job site and work with the individual to maintain positive and successful work environments

Interest-Based Recreation Activities

  • Offering a recreation club with 2-4 social events per month with a group of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Providing assistance in attending activities that the individual may not be able to access without help or additional services
  • Creating meaningful and healthy activities for individuals that promote social and inclusive behaviors
  • Learning to be respectful and responsible out in the community in order to facilitate positive and appropriate relationships with individuals and with the environment
