Attended Donation Site Ambassador 

ARC of Multnomah-Clackamas

Can you work independently? Do you enjoy meeting people? If yes, then we want you!

The ARC is opening new “Attended Donation Stations” and needs Ambassadors to receive donated clothes and household goods. These stations will accept donations from the community and process them for delivery to stores. Your work would be contributing to fund our local charity.

As the Ambassador you would:

  • Promptly opens the ADS each assigned day and prepares site for that day’s business;
  • Cheerfully greet and assist donors by transferring their donations from their vehicle into the ADS;
  • Provide donation tax receipt to donors and explain charity mission, as requested;
  • Weigh all donations by type and enter donor and product weight into Donation Log;
  • Store all donations in an organized manner for efficient accounting and handling ;
  • Maintain ADS in a clean and safe condition to include the interior, the exterior grounds and parking lot and especially, the Donor Service Point;
  • Assist collections driver unloading ADS while maintaining a priority on donor service;
  • Weigh delivered product and complete Transfer Delivery Report;
  • Inventory and order all necessary ADS supplies;
  • Communicate to Manager daily donor counts, product weights and any conditions at the ADS requiring attention necessary to meet donor service standards, safety concerns or site cleanliness;
  • Secure ADS at the end of the business day and call the Manager to acknowledge closing of the site;
  • Work within assigned ADS Team to proactively plan for requested time off and unexpected absences;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and experience needed to be successful as the Ambassador:

  • Motivation to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrated potential to work in an environment with minimal supervision

Skills needed to be successful as the Ambassador:

  • Ability to partner with Manager to deliver program results;
  • Self-starter who is accountable for daily functioning of site;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to problem-solve daily situations;
  • Service-oriented with cheerful personality
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to cleanliness, organization and detail
  • Able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Reliable transportation and commitment to attendance and punctuality
  • Willing and able to work weekend days as a regular part of the position schedule
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Satisfactorily pass physical and background exams
  • Ability to work within The ARC culture
